LEOMINSTER -- If you've ever wondered whether unexplained happenings in your home could be the work of ghosts, a workshop offered by a self-proclaimed ghost hunter from New Hampshire may be worth your while.
CC Carole, host of the Internet ghost-hunting show "CC the Huntress," will travel to Leominster on Thursday, Dec. 9, to hold a ghost hunting workshop at the Columbia Hotel on Main Street, from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Carole, said a friend recommend the Columbia Hotel, home to the historic Masons Hall. After scouting it out, Carole decided it was the perfect spot.
"It turned out to be a very active place," Carole said.
Tom Bedard, owner of the Columbia Hotel, said there's no history of reported hauntings in the building, but Carole said some residents claimed to hear unexplained banging noises.
The Dec. 9 workshop will include a presentation on ghost-hunting techniques, followed by a demonstration. Participants will be able to test out what they've learned in several of the old hotel's vacant rooms.
People are also encouraged to bring photographs of their own haunted places, and share their experiences. A certificate of completion will be distributed at the end of the program.
The cost to attend is $40. Money will be donated to the American Cancer Society in memory of Carole's father, Glen "Steve", who died of cancer in October. Visit www.ccthehuntress.com and click the
The Leominster workshop is the kickoff event for an interstate tour of historic places, according to Carole, who will broadcast her ghost-hunting adventures online as she goes.
"I'm up close and personal with the spirit world," Carole said.
