Investigate Nashua haunt on ghost hunt

NASHUA – Don't wait until Halloween for a good scare.

On Wednesday and Thursday, CC Carole of Merrimack will lead a ghost hunt through the Country Tavern, an event Carole organized to raise money for the Red Cross fund for the Vine Street fire victims.

A five-alarm fire destroyed the Nashua building that housed 17 apartments and two ground-floor storefronts Feb. 9. Carole's son, Bob, 22, was a resident of the building.

• "It's a sad situation. We can at least help," said Carole, known as CC the Huntress. "This event is really dear to my heart."

Carole decided that hosting a ghost hunt in Nashua would be a fun and entertaining way to support the Red Cross Local Relief Fund for the fire victims.

The Country Tavern ghost hunt will be captured by surveillance cameras and by Bob, who is also Carole's videographer.

"He makes it look like a room full of cameras when it's only one," Carole said. "He puts action into the still photo."

Carole has been investigating for 18 years and uses history, science and spirituality during all of her investigations. She has investigated the Country Tavern before and said that she has found things she will not reveal until the night of the event.

"It's going to be kind of shocking what is uncovered," she said.

Carole said local residents have heard stories that the small restaurant on Amherst Street is haunted, but it's her job to reveal the facts from fiction.

"There's definitely a ghost there," she said. "What we have uncovered will absolutely blow you away."

Though the Thursday night ghost hunt is sold out, an additional night on Wednesday, March 25, has been added. The night begins at 7:15 p.m. and will include a dinner, a history presentation, information on the hunting equipment, the investigation and time to go over the findings. Tickets are $55.
